• Don Smiley will retire from his Summerfest Presidency in January 2024.
He will then move to Baird in their Marketing Dept. and be retained as a Consultant to the new Summerfest President. Don remains the only Racine resident to have been the President of a World Series Baseball team. He was Miami Marlins President in 1997.

Racine St. Catherine’s Home Game Protocols and Procedures
All tickets must be purchased ahead of time at http://spicket.events/schsangels
Ticket sales will open 1 week prior to each event
Ticket sales close at 2:00pm the day of the event for varsity football games as well as JV2/JV/Varsity boys basketball games. Any individual(s) not purchasing tickets by 2:00pm will not be allowed into the game
Tickets can be printed at home to be scanned at the event or shown in the Ticket Spicket app on cellular devices to be scanned. NO SCREENSHOTS ACCEPTED
Gates/entrance close 30 minutes after the scheduled start time of the varsity event. Anyone not in the game at this time will not be allowed in
Refunds will only be issued for ticket purchases if the event is canceled
No re-entry to the event, once you leave you will not be allowed back in
All middle/elementary school students must be with an adult
Metro Classic Conference passes are still allowed at the gate for Metro Classic Conference games only, no digital ticket required. For Non-Conference Games, Metro Classic Conference passes are not accepted and a digital ticket is required
6 and under are free, no digital ticket required.

Football (2-0 Metro Classic Conference, 3-1 Overall)
The Angels football team hosted Shoreland Lutheran on Friday night at Horlick Field in a Metro Classic Conference matchup. The Angels got off to a quick start as they scored 3 touchdowns in the first quarter, all on the ground. Mariano Talamantez started the scoring with a 10 yard touchdown run and then Imarion Holder did the rest as he added a 22 yard and 12 yard touchdown run. In the 2nd quarter Holder got on the scoreboard again as he rushed for a 6 yard TD run. Issac Cantu capped off the scoring as he hauled in a TD catch from Talamantez for a 24 yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter. When the final horn blew the Angels walked away with a 34-14 victory. Talamantez led the team passing with 161 yards, a TD run and a TD pass. Holder led the ground attack with 99 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lamont Hamilton led the team receiving with 2 grabs for 81 yards. Hamilton also had an interception on the defensive side of the ball.
Girls Tennis (1-2 Metro Classic Conference, 1-6 Overall)
Tuesday afternoon at Lockwood Park the Angels girls tennis team faced off against a very good team in The Prairie School. The Hawks showed why they are a favorite to win the conference as they defeated the Angels 7-0. Marissa Feurestein was the top performer for the Angels as she was able to win 3 games off her opponent.
On Thursday the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran girls tennis team traveled to Dominican to face off in a Metro Classic Conference dual. Dominican had some players missing which resulted in Nylah Kraus, Claire Mathew and Mikalah Smith earning default victories. The doubles team of Dayjia Brown-Frazier and Liliann Hoffman also earned a victory as they defeated their opponent 7-5, 4-6, 10-2. In the end the Angels were also able to walk away with the team victory 4-3
Friday and Saturday the Angels girls tennis team traveled to The Prairie School and Racine Horlick to participate in the Racine County Invite. The girls played great tennis over the two days and really improved upon their skills. Claire Mathew was the high performer of the weekend as she defeated her opponent from Case 6-2, 6-3 and won 5 additional games as well. Marissa Feurestin also had a great couple days as she won 4 games. Isabella Lillo fell just short of a victory as she was defeated 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 and also won 2 additional games. The doubles team of Nylah Kraus/Elena Gaither also were narrowly defeated 6-2, 7-5 and won 2 games as well.
Girls Volleyball (0-2 Metro Classic Conference, 5-6 Overall)
Thursday night the Angels girls volleyball team hosted Kenosha St. Joseph in a Metro Classic Conference matchup. The Lancers proved to be a very difficult opponent as they defeated the Angels in three straight sets, 25-11, 25-18, 25-19. Aniyah Price led the team with 7 kills and 1 block while Londyn Pardo and Alondra Perez each had 3 kills.
Saturday the girls volleyball team traveled to Cudahy to participate in Cudahy’s annual tournament. The Angels had an up and down day, but performed extremely well as they were able to finish 3rd overall. In their first match of the day they were able to defeat Cudahy 25-13, 25-20. Facing off against Milwaukee King in the 2nd match the Angels fell 25-18, 25-19. In the 3rd match the Angels defeated Milwaukee Hamilton 25-11, 25-14. Wauwatosa West was next up on the day and they proved to be a formidable opponent as Tosa West was able to defeat the Angels 25-12, 25-7. In their last match of the day the Angels would emerge victorious as they defeated Brown Deer in the 3rd place match 26-24, 25-16. Maciena Trujillo was the high performer of the day as she had 20 kills, 6 blocks and 4 aces. Emmerson Davidovic had 8 aces and 7 kills, Londyn Pardo had 5 assists and 3 kills, Katie Winkler and Alondra Perez each had 3 aces and Aniyah Price had 2 kills and 2 aces.
Boys Volleyball (1-1 Southern Lakes Conference, 1-2 Overall)
Wednesday night the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran/Prairie boys volleyball team hosted Beloit Memorial in a Southern Lakes Conference volleyball match. The Angels played extremely well from the first serve and defeated the Purple Knights 25-18, 25-19, 25-10. Lucas Adams led the team with 11 assists, 3 aces and 3 kills. Sam Pitrof led the team in kills with 4, while Christian Cervantes added 3. Caleb Scott had 3 kills and 3 Blocks and Parker Kauzlarich had 3 digs.
Boys Soccer (1-0-0 Metro Classic Conference, 3-1-1 Overall)
The boys soccer team opened up conference play on Wednesday night as they traveled to Shoreland Lutheran. The team got off to a slow start as they gave up a quick goal to Shoreland Lutheran, but after that it was all Angels as they defeated the Pacers 6-3. Wade Roberson led the way with 2 goals while Abel Galvan, Andrew Babington, Juan Bueno and Edgar Gomez each had a goal as well. Juan Bueno also added an assist. Edgar Cesario-Olivared had 5 saves in the victory.
On Saturday the boys soccer team traveled to face off against the 6th ranked team in Division 1 the Verona Wildcats. The Angels played very well and showed that they could compete against the state's best. Unfortunately for the Angels they couldn’t quite get the offense rolled as they were defeated 2-0. Morgan Determan played a great game at goalkeeper stopping 8 Wildcat shots.

Girls golf had no events this week. Their next event will be the county invite on 9/11 @ Ives Grove
Cross Country
Friday afternoon the Angels cross country team kicked off their season as they hosted the Metro Reunion meet at Johnson Park. Sidney Davis was the only runner for the Angels as she was running in her first meet of her high school career. Sidney did an excellent job as she finished her race in 26:39.82 which was good enough for 13th out of 31 runners.
Girls Swim
The PSC aquatics team traveled to Elkhorn on Saturday and swam extremely well. The team earned 22 points overall and finished 9th out of 11 teams. Below are results of swimmers that earned points for the team.
