Tony's daughter Rae-Lin was Wisconsin Girls Basketball Player of the Year '06 at Waterford. She went on to have an outstanding career at UW-Madison. After college played 10 yrs in Italy. Rae-Lin led her 3 on 3 team to the Gold Medal in the 2020 Olympics and was selected Tourney's VP. Tony claims he taught her all she knows about buckets - very little about basketball.

• Cribbage: Table #1 Teams - Bobby Letsch/ Bob Letsch vs Dave Benjamin/ Dan DeMatthew. They played at first best of 3 - moved to best of seven - tried best of nine. They quit when it went Bobby & Bob were down 5-2. January has not been good to Bobby Jr.
Table #2: Mike Hyduke/Dave O'Brien defeated Don Klemt/ Joe Macareno and Pete Schiro/Frank D'Acquisto 2-0 - Klemt/Macareno won 1 - D'Acquisto refused to play 6 handed.
(It was agreed by all the Frank can only play 6 handed in the future.)

* Boys Basketball - Monday January 16th
We are happy to announce that the Angels varsity boys basketball team will be playing at the Fiserv Forum again this year. The game will be played on Monday January 16th against Prescott at 5:50pm. In order for the team to play at Fiserv we are required to sell a minimum of $3,000 worth of tickets to the Bucks game, which will be occurring at 1:30pm that same day against the Indiana Pacers. I have attached the flyer that can be used to purchase Bucks tickets for that day. Deadline to purchase tickets with this flyer is December 16th. Please note, St. Catherine's does not set the Bucks ticket prices, nor receive any of the funds from the sale of the tickets. We simply are in charge of getting the ticket options out for purchase so the basketball team can play at Fiserv
There is NO COST to get into the Angels varsity boys basketball game and you ARE NOT required to go to the Bucks game beforehand to attend the Angels varsity boys basketball game. If you plan to attend the Bucks game, you must purchase a ticket to the Bucks game for you and anyone else attending with you.
Please note the below from the Bucks in regards to what will occur after the Bucks game.
We will not permit any equipment or gear into the Bucks game. Following the Bucks game, all players, coaches, and fans must exit along with the rest of the crowd. We will reopen the doors for high school teams and coaches at 5:00 pm. We will reopen the doors for high school fans at 5:30 pm. The game will tip off at approximately 5:50 pm.-

Girls Basketball
Thursday night in a non-conference matchup against Elkhorn, the Angels girls basketball jumped out to a 10 point lead in the 1st half and also took a 7 point lead into halftime. In the 2nd half the Elks of Elkhorn would cut that lead to within 4 points before the Angels turned it back on to cruise to a 56-43 victory. Aniyah Price and Laila Collier-White each led the scoring with 20 points a piece while Emmerson Davidovic and Ariana Green played a fantastic game defensively.
Saturday afternoon the Lady Angels traveled to Racine Lutheran for a Metro Classic Conference game. Unfortunately for the Angels the ball didn’t fall the way they wanted and couldn’t get any momentum as they lost to the Crusaders 56-32. Lailia Collier-White led the team with 13 points, Kennedee Clark added 7 and Ariana Green had 5. Clark led the team with 7 rebounds while Green and Collier-White each had 6.
Boys Basketball
Wednesday night the boys basketball team traveled west to face off against Westosha Central in a non-conference basketball game. Unfortunately for the Angels the Falcons of Westosha proved to be a formidable opponent as the Falcons beat the Angels 57-43. Davion Thomas-Kumpula led all players with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Dominic Pitts added 13 points and Evan Moherek had 8.
After suffering a tough loss on Wednesday night the boys basketball team was looking to bounce back with a great performance, and they did just that on Friday night at home against Racine Lutheran. The Angels got off to a hot start as they led 48-24 at halftime. From there they only gave up 13 points in the 2nd half to cruise to a 88-37 victory. Lamont Hamilton led all scorers on the evening as he poured in 23 points, Davion Thomas-Kumpula followed with 19, Evan Moherek had 17 and Isaiah Wray had 12. Isaiah Wray led the team with 13 rebounds while Dominic Pitts led the team with 5 steals and 5 assists.
Wrestling
Saturday the St. Catherine’s/Lutheran/Catholic Central wrestling team headed south to Kenosha Bradford High School for an individual tournament. On the day the Angels performed well and took 7th out of 14 teams. Elijah LaFountain was the high performer of the day taking 1st which included 4 pins along the way. Also performing well for the Angels was Luis Rivera who took 5th and Alberto Rodriguez who took 6th. Rebekah Beere also performed very well as she took 4th in the girls division on the day.
